In conjunction with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), BIS Skills Centre has developed an industry leading competency system consisting of SQA Customised Award Task Profiles for 32 different occupational areas, including Scaffolding, Painting, Insulating and Rope Access Operatives.

Our SQA accredited Competency System assesses an individual's competence in the skills, knowledge, understanding and experience required to carry out his or her job. Employees gather evidence of competence within their task profile/s and this is then assessed against robust industry-based BIS Salamis standards.
This programme enables BIS Salamis to provide documented evidence of competency for personnel, be they core crew or ad-hoc, providing reassurance for the client and an internationally recognised qualification for the individual.
